Risk Mitigation in Ultra-Fast Project
Delivery
| 5 November 13.15-17.00 | Track: Project Management |
ISPE CEUs: 0.3
The pharmaceutical industry continues to demand faster facility delivery irrespective of the complexity involved in delivering a sophisticated manufacturing or development facility. The traditional overlapping of engineering, procurement and construction phases are no longer sufficient to meet the accelerated facility delivery needs of the industry. In order to fulfill this need, out of sequence work is frequently necessary. This can result in unacceptable execution outcomes in terms of quality, schedule and costs.
In order to mitigate these risks associated with out of sequence work, industry is using a variety of tools, methods and techniques. This session will provide industry leaders an opportunity to highlight and debate merits of a variety of techniques currently being utilized for risk mitigation in ultra-fast project delivery.
During this session we will examine the role played by the following approaches in facility delivery risk mitigation:
- Alliances and established relationships
- Front end planning and team alignment
- Early partnering with regulatory and quality groups
- Class of plant quality and benchmarking
- Timely decision making about the scope and cost of the project
- Use of standardized designs, tools and methods
- Understanding the relationship of change with cost, schedule and quality
- Project execution quality monitoring and control
