Patrick Banes
Patrick Banes is the Vice President, Business Development for Oakley Specialized Services, Inc., Metuchen, New Jersey, where he has worked since 1981. His responsibilities include market development and project engineering for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. He holds a BA in Zoology and a minor in chemistry from the University of New Hampshire in Durham. He has also taken several graduate inorganic chemistry courses at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In the last 10 years, Banes has made multiple presentations on the subject of passivation of stainless steel for the AICHE, ASME BPE, ASTM, IIR, IQPC, ISPE, PDA and other technical educational organizations. His papers on passivation and derouging have been published in Microcontamination, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Ultrapure Water Magazines. Banes is a Member of ISPE, North Jersey Chapter and a former subcommittee member for the ISPE Baseline® Pharmaceutical Engineering Guide and a current member of the ASME BPE Finishing Subcommittee.
