Speaker Biography
Thomas Cappelle
Tom Cappelle is Director for the Americas Region for Abbott Laboratories. He has thirty-one years of experience with Abbott including equipment design, plant engineering, fermentation operations, both process and facilities design and EH&S. He is responsible for project management and execution in North, Central and South America. Cappelle graduated from Marquette University with a BSME and from Northwestern University with a MS in engineering management. He has been an ISPE member since 2002, has served on the Board of Directors for the Great Lakes Chapter since joining and was President of the Chapter for the 2005-2006 fiscal year. He is an active member of the team which developed the new ISPE Good Practice Guide: Maintenance and has spoken at several ISPE meetings in the United States and Europe on the subject.
