YC Lee

YC Lee, PhD, began his career at Eli Lilly in 1990 where, over 12 years, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in product development, leading him to a senior managerial position as the manager of analytical development. In 2002, he joined the contract research organization, Patheon, as the director of analytical development. His laboratories were responsible for the development of more than 40 new chemical entities (NCE) for global regulatory submissions. In 2005, Lee became the chief operating officer with Toronto based Pharmlink Inc. He then joined PharmEng as a Senior Director in 2006 and is currently responsible for globally building PharmEng’s pharmaceutical development business. Lee has more than 18 years of pharmaceutical development experience in analytical development, validation, experimental design, drug product specifications and stability testing. He is an editor of the book “Analytical Method Validation and Instrument Performance Verification” published by Wiley. He is also a founder of the Calibration & Validation Group (CVG). CVG is a non-profit organization formed by more than 1,500 analytical and formulation scientists from the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, academia and government agencies across Canada. Lee received his PhD in physical organic chemistry from the University of Hong Kong. He has authored more than 12 technical publications and presentations and holds one patent.
