Aseptic Technologies aims to both improve quality and simplify aseptic processes. Two technologies have been in particular developed: the Crystal Closed Vial technology and the SART connector technology (commercialized by Sartorius). The Crystal technology consists in filling vials which are clean and sterile, therefore ready-to-fill without complex preliminary processes, and kept permanently closed to reduce risk of contamination by exposure to the environment. A first product, Synflorix from GSK, has been approved by EMA and over than 30 equipment have been installed worldwide.
