Donations Accepted: If you are unable to participate in the 5K Run/Walk, but would like to donate to the charity, please stop by the ISPE Information desk in the Knowledge Center.

ISPE has added a new option based on Member suggestions. The 5K (3.1 miles) course will run along the beautiful San Diego Harbor with Coronado in the background. The course takes entrants through both North and South Embarcadero Marina Parks.

Net proceeds from the ISPE 5K run/walk will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure to fund breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs, as well as the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, to provide a permanent endowment for breast cancer initiatives. Please join us for this fun, healthy, and very worthwhile event that can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

Option #1 – ISPE Golf Tournament at Steele Canyon
10.30 - 17.30 (buses depart at 10.30 and tournament begins at 12.00; pairings will be done on site)

Price: US$120
Price includes: transportation, golf cart, shotgun start tournament, and gratuities. Lunch and beverages are not included but will be available for purchase.
Dress code: soft spikes, collared shirt, Bermuda length shorts

As one of Southern California’s finest golf clubs, Steele Canyon has been awarded Golf Digest’s Four Star Rating, one of only three golf clubs so honored in San Diego County. The 27-hole championship course was personally designed by Gary Player to enhance and appreciate the natural beauty of the terrain. Each of the three nines offers a distinct environment and type of play for all levels of golfers. The rugged Canyon Course is famous for dramatic shot making challenges and breathtaking elevations, the Ranch Course winds through the fields of a working ranch, and the Meadow Course stretches along the valley floor with beautiful woodlands and streams.

Price includes: : transportation, narrated city and Balboa Park tour enroute, admission, 90 minute “Behind the Scenes” tour, and zoo map. Food and beverages are not included but can be purchased at the zoo.

The famous San Diego Zoo houses the world’s rarest collection of animals, birds, reptiles, and 5,000 species of exotic plants. Guests will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy all that nature has to offer.

Begin your adventure before you even set foot inside the park, with a narrated drive through San Diego, including Balboa Park. Follow that up with a VIP “Behind the Scenes” look at the zoo, including a private three mile guided tour with two special stops for an inside peek at enclosures that are generally closed to the public. Learn more about the zoo’s endangered species, the animals’ special feeding and handling requirements, and perhaps enjoy hands-on experience with some unusual friends! This is a great opportunity for a fascinating and unique look at the Zoo. After the special tour, guests can enjoy some free time for shopping and visiting their favorite animals.

Option #3 – USS Midway and Aircraft Carrier Museum and City Tour*

Price includes: transportation, narrated city tour, admission, and self-guided audio tour with guidance onboard the ship. Food and beverages are not included.
Dress: Wear comfortable flat shoes, suitable for stairs and ladders. A light jacket is recommended due to winds on the Flight Deck.

See the favorite sights of “America’s Finest City,” old and new, all in one day! First, enjoy a short journey to downtown and the historic “Gaslamp Quarter,” where guests will learn more about San Diego’s early years and take in the 19th century Victorian architecture. Then, take a spin through nearby Balboa Park, a 1,200 acre city park, which houses over a dozen museums, multiple botanical gardens, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

Next, get ready for a memorable experience aboard the aircraft carrier USS Midway on the beautiful San Diego Harbor. The Midway served for seven decades and is now a permanent museum exhibiting historical and educational aspects of naval aviation and the rise of American carrier power. Take a selfguided audio tour of the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum, which highlights more than 40 exhibits and 21 restored aircraft and includes: interactive, story-telling docents, many of whom are Midway veterans; access to engineering, mess deck, berthing spaces, foc’s’le, hangar deck, flight deck, and the island superstructure; two types of optional flight simulators; plus the spectacular views of the San Diego skyline, the Bay Bridge, and the U.S. Navy fleet! This activity-packed tour is a fascinating and fun way to see some of the best that San Diego has to offer. Expect to climb stairs and ladders during the visit to the Midway.
