  • Biographies:
    Alan Osborne is Regional Director and Head of Global Engineering at AstraZeneca overseeing projects in the Asia-Pacific region. This is Alan's fifth year based in Shanghai having spent 3 years in an EPC contracting organization before joining AstraZeneca. Prior to this he worked for Pfizer for 11 years in regional and business-focused roles heading Project Engineering and Program Management departments. Alan's passion for science and exploration stems back from his early career where he spent 7 years with the British Antarctic Survey - completing a two & a half year over-wintering tour then spending his final 4 years as Station Commander at Rothera Research Station on the Antarctic Peninsula. Alan has a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, a MSc in Building Services Engineering and a PG Diploma in Management. Alan is also a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Chartered Manager.

    Denton He is Project Manager, Global Engineering Projects (Asia Pacific) at AstraZeneca where he is responsible for the delivery of capital projects. Denton was heavily involved in the delivery of the Taizhou manufacturing facility, the company's single largest investment in a manufacturing facility at the time. He also managed the completion of the Taizhou Phase 2 expansion project. Previously he has worked at Jacobs/SKM and AstraZeneca Australia. Denton holds a BEng/BSc (Honors) from the University of Melbourne, and has also conducted research at Tokyo University and Tokyo Institute of Technology.

    Martin Teo is Project Director at AstraZeneca Global Engineering. He is responsible for the delivery of major capital projects, with extensive experience through the entire project lifecycle, from Land Acquisition to Engineering and Construction, through to C&Q and Project Closeout. Martin has more than 15 years experience in major projects in Pharmaceutical and Healthcare related industries, both in China and overseas. Since joining AstraZeneca in 2011, Martin has delivered $250 million worth of capital investments in China. He has seen through from start to finish one of the most successful construction projects in the company's history. Taizhou Supply Site Phase 1 completed its transformation from farmers field to be able to produce its first GMP sample after only 22 months. The project was recognized both internally and externally, culminating in its receiving of the ISPE Facility of the Year Award (FOYA) 2015 in the category of Project Execution.

    Kwame Agyei Owusu is a budding global business leader with interests/experience in business strategy and project/change management as well as a passion for African development. After gaining a BSc. Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, Kwame spent the early part of his career in AstraZeneca's Global Operations Associate Program, gaining a broad and yet deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. He has worked in the UK, Puerto Rico and now China. He is currently a Project Engineer in AstraZeneca's Engineering Capital Projects Department, Global Engineering; supporting the company's growth through the development and expansion of its R&D, Manufacturing and Office facilities in Asia.
